Many were surprised to learn that Carl Crawford had been arrested for physically assaulting a woman, now these people are baffled by the fact that his baby mama, Evelyn Lozada, has decided to defend him.

The Basketball Wives star took to social media, where she posted a video explaining that she has been seeing rumors circulating on the Internet, claiming that she was abused by her former fiancé.

The reality TV star, who shares a son with the Dodger, said during their romance; he never hurt her.

Evelyn, who has been vocal about domestic violence against women after her ex-husband, Chad Johnson beat her, took the opportunity to explain that she is not discrediting the alleged victim.

She wrote the following message accompanied by a video: “My truth ♥️

With all that’s going on in the world right now, I hate that I have to even address this… I will always be empathetic to ANYONE who has experienced any form of domestic violence and in NO WAY would I ever undermine anyone else’s alleged experience. That is their story to tell. However, after numerous calls, tweets, DM’s and bloggers claiming that I’ve said that my ex-fiancé, Carl Crawford, intimidated or physically hurt me, I felt I had to speak regarding my relationship with Carl. The Carl I hear about lately is not the Carl I personally know. During our 4 Year engagement & while co-parenting our son, Carl has never been violent or threatening. We have a positive relationship. Again, I take the time to speak on this for my son, who I never want to grow up and feel as if his father hurt his mother in any way. I also do this because I won’t allow bloggers looking for clicks to manipulate MY story and take away from those women who need their true stories heard. There is NO story here, and I have no additional comments. If anyone is struggling with an abusive relationship and is looking for resources or help, please reach out to [email protected].”

A fan had this reaction: “🙏🏼 Thank you for sharing. I was in an abusive relationship for years I never shared my story until my incarceration. I would love to be apart of your organization, sharing my story is continuous therapy for myself, and it also can help others. I name my org. Sylentheart because the abuse was a silent epidemic. During my time, many women were a shame to speak about it. I’m so proud of the many women that are speaking up for change. Thank you again. I’m here to help in any way I can. Proud of you. ❤️🙏🏼”

Another commenter applauded her: “Yes, 🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽Control your narrative. Glad you spoke on this… so many ppl try to tell your story. Your story from your mouth… is your power… ❤️❤️❤️”

This backer wrote: “Evelyn, you are a good person. We have love for you, girl. You don’t have to explain anything to no one god bless 🙏 God is with you all the time blessings to you and your family.😍🙏😇”

A critic told her this is not the time for this conversation: “Has she said anything about Black Lives Matter?! For this is a genuine question. All I can think about when I see her is, “Ocho Cinco wanted me,” Maybe she should be single for a while to reflect on who she is. You mirror relationships ijs.”

Was Evelyn wrong to bring this up right now.
