What inspired you to become a singer?

I’ve been singing since I can remember. I grew up doing a lot of musical theater and after my first show, I knew singing and performing was what I wanted to do with my life. Around two years ago, I really got into writing my own music. People, places and things around me inspire me everyday.

Your song “6 Second Love” is being played on Radio Disney and your song “Ghost Story” is being played on major radio stations. What is that even like?

Having music that I have spent so much time on actually being played on major radio stations is seriously a dream come true. It’s crazy to think that somewhere in the country, someone might be listening to one of my songs. When I first started writing, I never thought l would be on the radio. So knowing that these stations like my music enough to play it, makes me feel beyond happy.

You stated your “Ghost Story” music video will focus on depression and mental health. Why is that so important to you?

I started to write music because many people I know have opened up to me about their issues with sadness, depression and mental illness. Two years ago, a friend I only new from social media told me she was struggling with depression- that’s when I wrote Ghost Story. It was my way of being with her without physically holding her. After helping her, I realized I could help other people with my lyrics and by being a caring friend. So the Ghost Story music video is going to share a message that it is okay to talk about these things and let people know they aren’t alone.

You were just on the TODAY show as artist of the month. Tell us about it.

It was one of the best experiences ever! I found out I was going to be on the show during school the week before! It blew me away that Elvis Duran chose 6 Second Love and me to be a part of the segment. I was a little nervous at first but once I got on the stage I was totally comfortable.
