The popular crime drama BMF on Starz will feature award-winning performers like actress and comedian Mo’Nique (Precious, Bessie). Five years after her last acting job in 2016’s Almost Christmas, the Academy Award winner has taken on a number of roles. She is now joining Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson’s series in a recurring role for the second season. In the following season, her persona will be a powerful ally for the Flenory brothers.
As Goldie, a classy strip club owner in Atlanta with the swagger and street smarts to get by, Mo’Nique joins the show. She will support the Flenory brothers as they relocate from Detroit to Atlanta, giving them a steadfast supporter as they seek to make a name for themselves elsewhere. She is a fierce protector of individuals in her inner circle, especially her dancers, and isn’t hesitant to get her hands dirty or go the extra mile to accomplish her goals.
She joins a show that debuted in 2021 and caused quite a stir. The Black Mafia Family, the country’s most well-known drug trafficking organisation, was founded by the Flenory brothers, whose tale was recounted in the first season. It generated extraordinarily high engagement right away and was the highest-rated premiere on the Starz app in 2021 when it made its debut. Starz felt compelled to instantly renew it for a second season after that incredibly positive premiere.
Mo’Nique will be in good company with this group, which includes returning actors Da’Vinchi, Russell Hornsby, Michole Briana White, Myles Truitt, and Steve Harris in addition to Demetrius “Lil Meech” Flenory Jr., who portrays his real-life father Demetrius “Big Meech” Flenory. BMF also had some outstanding regular performers, such as Serayah, Arkeisha “Kash Doll” Knight, and the rapper turned national treasure, Snoop Dogg. Mo’Nique is not the only newbie to the series; Christine Horne and Kelly Hu also joined it before the second instalment. In addition, regulars Leslie Jones and La La Anthony received promotions. With an Academy Award for Precious, numerous other honours like SAG, Golden Globe, and BET Awards, as well as a distinguished stand-up career, Mo’Nique brings to the series a strong resume.

Heather Zuhlke, Anthony Wilson, and Anne Clements join the duo for Season 2. The popular show was produced by Jackson’s own G-Unit Film and Television in collaboration with Lionsgate Television.
Here is the official synopsis for the series:
“BMF” is based on real-life legends who emerged from southwest Detroit’s run-down streets in the late 1980s to form one of the nation’s most powerful crime families. The Flenory brothers would become famous on a global scale because to Demetrius “Big Meech” Flenory’s charismatic leadership, Terry “Southwest T” Flenory’s commercial savvy, and the fraternal partnership’s vision beyond the drug trade and into the world of hip-hop. The foundation of their relationship and the reason behind their eventual estrangement would be their unwavering devotion to their families. This is a tale about pursuing the American dream through capitalism, kinship, and love.
