We don’t watch the Real Housewives of Orange County around here, but we do know who some of the “stars” are, since they’re making headlines for divorces, bankruptcies and, to a lesser extent, plastic surgery. When it comes to plastic surgery and these Real Housewives shows it’s a given. They all look like bizarre clones of each other, like women who might have once been lovely, but who have erased all the character out of their face as a result of groupthink and societal pressure. (I’m so glad I don’t live in California, although I would like to be closer to the beach and sun that’s for sure.) So the fact that Vicki Gunvalson, 51, of RHOC got plastic surgery isn’t the notable part, it’s notable because she’s owning up to exactly what she had done.
On “Watch What Happens Live” she admitted to having an eyelift (I think that’s what she’s saying), fat transfer, a new nose and a new chin. Apparently she had this all done while she was filming the show, and it’s settled now and doesn’t look as bizarre as when she was on camera. You can see Vicki make this announcement in the video below, and Radar has transcribed some of it for us too:
The Real Housewives of Orange County‘s Vicki Gunvalson unveiled her “settled in” new face on Monday night’s Watch What Happens Live, and we have the clip for you right here on RadarOnline.com.
Calling the longtime reality star “The O.C.’s O.G.,” host Andy Cohen announced, “Please give it up, for the new Vicki Gunvalson! You look good Vicki Gunvalson!
Vicki, looking refreshed months after the proceedure, said she had fat withdrawn from her sides and implanted into her face, as well as tweaks to her nose and chin.”I just kind of closed my eyes and [told doctors,] ‘Do what you think looks good,” Vicki said.
Andy then replayed a clip of Vicki’s castmates Tamra Barney and Gretchen Rossi mocking her new look, implying her jaw was shaped in a far too masculine manner.
They also showed a clip of some of the other housewives mocking Vicki’s chin implant, and it was super rude. They didn’t do it to Vicki’s face, and she admitted it was “hurtful” but said she shouldn’t have been on camera right after getting surgery. When Andy Cohen asked her if she changed her face because people (Slade and others) called her “Miss Piggy” she got choked up and I felt bad for her. She admitted that the taunting made her self conscious and helped her decide to get surgery.
As for how she looks now, she’s still kind of immobile on camera, but in the still photos she looks great. A lot of the change is also due to her hair and makeup though, which was too harsh before. I think she could have switched it up without resorting to surgery, but she does look good. She’s got that “deer in the headlights” look though.
Also, it’s good she fixed her boobs or put on a bra because that dress to the left (above) wasn’t doing her any favors.
May, 2012 (with Tamra Barney). This may have been when her surgery was fresher.
